Assam: PM-KISAN 19th instalment released for eligible farmers in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred the 19th instalment of funds under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi’ (PM-KISAN) scheme directly to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiary farmers today. In Sonitpur district, a total of 37,881 beneficiaries received the financial assistance under this scheme.

During the ‘Kishan Samman Samaroh’ event held in Bhagalpur, Bihar, PM Modi released the 19th instalment to support farmers across the country. In Sonitpur, to mark this occasion, the District Agriculture Department and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) organized a live telecast event at the KVK Auditorium in Napam for the benefit of farmers. The event was attended by Additional District Commissioner (Agriculture) Garg Mohan Das as the chief guest, along with District Agriculture Officer Pranjal Sarma, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Dr Zakir Hussain, Senior Agricultural Development Officer Ajit Pathak, scientists from KVK Sonitpur, and over a hundred farmers.

As part of the celebrations, the District Agriculture Department also arranged for live screenings of the PM-KISAN instalment release event at multiple locations, including the Joint Director of Agriculture’s office premises in Mazgaon, the BRC at Borchala Block Development Office, the conference hall of the Dhekiajuli Block Development Office, the conference hall of the Bihaguri Block Development Office, the conference hall of the Balipara Block Development Office, and the Chariduar Farmers’ Training Center. These screenings were facilitated by local Agricultural Development Officers, Agriculture Extension Assistants, and Krishi Sakhis. It is noteworthy that along with the 37,881 eligible beneficiaries in Sonitpur, a total of 9,81,31,928 farmers across the country received over 22,000 crore rupees through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), as announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the live event.
