Assam: Police Arrest Main Accused In Ishaan Uday Scholarship Scam

Guwahati: The Assam Police on Wednesday arrested the main accused named Minhazul Haque in connection with the Ishan Uday Scholarship scandal in 2019-20.

According to reports, the police arrested him on the basis of an FIR filed against shan Uday scandal at Madhav Chowdhury College in Barpeta.

The police have also seized a pen drive, more than 26 bank passbooks, six bank checkbooks, notebooks, various people's PAN cards, Xerox copies of voter cards and some other items from Minhazul Haque.

According to Dr Pradeep Shaikia, Additional Superintendent of Police, Barpeta, Minhazul Haque was involved in the Ishan Uday scandal in several districts of the state.

Haque has been arrested almost a year after the arrest of Ratan Hazarika, an employee of Madhav Chowdhury College, along with two other accused in connection with the Ishan Uday scandal.
