NAZIRA: The Assam police and Assam Rifles have intensified their anti-ULFA operations in Charaideo district, which shares borders with Nagaland’s Mon district and Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district. In the past two days, joint operations have led to the arrest of 10 individuals who were working as linkmen for the ULFA (Independent) outfit. These linkmen were maintaining direct or indirect communication with ULFA (I) and were apprehended from various locations in Assam and Nagaland’s Mon district.
The arrested linkmen include Asim Adhikari from Kamrup, Balen Deka and Dhrubajyoti Baishya from from Udalguri, Dharmen Deka from Darrang, Sirajuddin Ali and Imran Ali from Sonari Chenigudam area, Surajit Dey from Sonari Bhawanipur area, Shanku Das from Sonari Borahi Kachari village, and Aham Kanyak from Nagaland.
These arrests bring the total number of ULFA (I) linkmen apprehended in Charaideo district to 22 in the past 12 days. The operations aim to dismantle the remaining networks connected to ULFA (I) in the region.
