On the basis of reliable inputs, law enforcement authorities carried out a raid that resulted in the recovery of a record 150,000 YABA tablets and the arrest of two persons linked with the drug syndicate.

The operation has been praised by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who hailed the police efforts openly on X through a post. He pointed out the magnitude of the operation in his post, saying “Crushing the drug syndicate. Sribhumi Police just wrecked a major drug ring in Kandigram area under Badarpur PS. 150000 YABA tablets snatched. 2 people arrested.” The above tweet is a testament to the government's resolve to deal with the rampant drug dealing problem in the state.

The confiscation amounts to one of the biggest drug seizures in the state, highlighting the ongoing initiatives of the Assam government for curbing the growing drug menace. As a follow-up, the authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation to find out the wider network associated with the drug operation. The arrested members are being subjected to intense interrogation, and more arrests are expected to be made as the investigation continues.

CM Sarma concluded his post by praising the Assam police and remarking, “Kudos to @assampolice,” reinforcing the administration's support for their ongoing fight against drug-related crimes.
