Assam: Police Jawan Killed In Hit-And-Run Case

GUWAHATI: On Wednesday night, a suspected hit-and-run incident resulted in the death of an Assam police personnel in the Cachar district of Assam.

The tragedy occurred in the Silchar city of Assam's Barak Valley region. The deceased has been identified as Kartik Nath (28). He worked for the Assam Police Task Force as a jawan (APTF). He was stationed along the BoP separating Assam and Mizoram.

According to accounts, Nath was struck by a speeding autorickshaw on Wednesday night as he was returning from his camp. He consequently suffered severe injuries.

He was rushed to a local hospital, where he passed away from his wounds. The autorickshaw, though, managed to get away from the scene before being apprehended. A search operation has been started by the police to find the autorickshaw driver.

On Wednesday, an automobile collision occurred in Guwahati, the state capital of Assam, as a result of a head-on collision between two vehicles.

According to the initial reports, the tragedy took place in the Ganeshguri flyover. Witnesses claimed to have seen a Toyota Fortuner collide head-on with a Hyundai i10 on the flyover.

It is not obvious how the two vehicles managed to collide head-on given that the flyover has clearly defined barriers. It is possible that one of the automobiles was driving on the wrong side of the street.

There haven't been any reports of fatalities related to the significant accident as of yet. A traffic police team has arrived on the scene to handle the situation and take the necessary steps. The driver of the car that came into the intersection from the wrong side of the street is thought to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.
