Assam Police Recovered Stolen vehicle in Darrang District

MANGALDAI: A luxurious vehicle stolen from Ghaziabad in UP has been successfully recovered in Darrang district following the prompt alertness of the Darrang Police.

Few days back, acting on a tip-off, a team of Dalgaon Police laid a ‘naka’ checking at Bahbari and on seeing police, the organized inter-State gang of car lifters abandoned a Fortuner vehicle which was recovered at around 2.30 pm. The vehicle was registered with the number AS-DS-7373.

The driver fled from the spot on seeing the police team on duty leaving the vehicle in an abandoned state at a reasonable distance from the ‘naka’ checking. The recovered vehicle was towed to Dalgaon Police Station and on investigation it came to light that the recovered Fortuner was a stolen one registered in the name of Shyam Ji Steels, Ghaziabad in UP.

The police, while making a telephonic contact with the registered owner, ascertained that the vehicle was originally registered as UP-14-EA-9900 and was stolen few days back. A case (no10/2020 U/S 379/197 IPC) has also been registered in this connection at Kavi Nagar Police Station of Ghaziabad in UP.
