BAKSA: A team from the Assam Police successfully rescued two teenage girls who were allegedly abducted from Suagpur in Baksa district on February 5. The girls were found held captive in an abandoned railway quarter located in Mazbat, Udalguri, following a two-day search operation.

The rescue mission was launched after the police received a complaint from the families of the missing girls when the teenagers did not return home on the evening of February 5. Using mobile location data, the police raided the abandoned railway quarter and recovered the girls successfully.

In relation to the abduction, three suspects have been apprehended while one escaped. The alleged mastermind behind the crime is identified as Babu Boro, 22, from Hajuguri in Mazbat. The police are still actively pursuing leads on the remaining suspect.

The authorities have pledged to conduct an in-depth probe into the whole incident so justice can be brought to the victims and their family. The successful rescue operation clearly shows the proper response of the police towards cases of abduction as well as how they ensure public safety. The law enforcement would continue to study the circumstances leading to the abduction, and details of the same would be issued in due course.
