BOKAKHAT: The deteriorated condition of National Highway 39, which connects Telgaram in Golaghat district to Purabangla via the front of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), has made travel on it nearly impossible. Just before reaching Purabangla, a section of the road has now turned into a pond-like state.

Not only this part, but several sections of the national highway have also become dangerous for commuters. The highway has seen zero maintenance. Currently, travel is taking place through the refinery’s internal road. Many parts of NH-39 are now in a deplorable condition.
