
DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh MLA and Assam Power Minister Prasanta Phukan exercised his democratic right by casting his vote at Polling Station No. 102(A), located at Khania Gaon Sonali Sangha (K), on Thursday.
The polling station falls under ZPC No. 22-06 Dibrugarh West, APC No. 1 Barbaruah, Ward No. 10 Sut Bokpara, and GP No. 13 Niz Mancotta.
Arriving at the polling booth early in the day, Phukan interacted briefly with voters and poll officials, encouraging citizens to participate in the electoral process with enthusiasm. Speaking to the media after casting his vote, he expressed confidence in the people’s support for development and good governance.
Voting in Dibrugarh took place peacefully, with adequate security and administrative arrangements in place to ensure a smooth polling process.
Meanwhile, panchayat polls will be held in the 95 No. Demow constituency (earlier 107 No. Thowra constituency) on May 2 in its first phase. The poll campaign for the first phase of the Panchayat Election 2025 ended on Wednesday afternoon.
Reports claim that the Demow co-district administration has completed all poll preparations for polling in 291 polling stations in the constituency. The polling officers and presiding officers reached Demow College on Thursday morning and took the essential things required for the polls from there and reached their respective polling stations.
