HAFLONG: Dr Jesmin Begum, Joint Director of Health Services, Dima Hasao, Additional Chief Medical & Health Officer Dr Marina Changsan, and District Vector Borne Disease Consultant Debajit Saikia took part in a press meet on preventive measures against Japanese encephalitis, dengue, and malaria. They informed that the health department had formed a joint regulatory team in 7 municipality areas and coordinated teams with other line departments to implement preventive measures. They also requested the people to play a vital role in preventing vector-borne diseases.

It was informed in the press meet that regular inspections were being made in the Haflong town areas and other market areas of the districts along with the municipal departments.

Awareness was also being spread on how safe clean water and properly-covered water tanks play an important role in controlling Japanese encephalitis. The press meet informed that there was one case of dengue in Langting and no current Japanese encephalitis cases in the district.
