Assam: Prime Accused In Sonapur Murder Case Admits To Crime Before Police

Guwahati: As per the latest developments in the sensational Sonapur murder case, the police has arrested the prime accused after he confessed to his crime before the Sonapur police.

The Sonapur Police received a piece of information in the wee hours around 2:21 am about a murder case that had taken place in the Jugdol area of Sonapur.

The OC of the Sonapur Police Station immediately rushed to the scene. It was alleged that a man by the name of Prafulla Bora had killed another man by the name of Ramen Kathar with a machete (dao) and an iron rod.

The body of the deceased was then concealed near the jungle that lies behind Bora's house.

The accused Prafulla Bora had refused to admit to killing Ramen Kathar at first but after a thorough examination confessed and led the police to the dead body.

It was revealed during the preliminary enquiry that the two persons were acquainted with each other. The victim has gone to the house of the accused in the late evening of Saturday and found it locked. However, the victim Ramen Kathar was somehow able to open the door and entered Bora's house without permission. On finding Kather in his house upon his return, the two engaged in a heated argument which let Bora hitting the other with a dao, thus killing him.

It is also reported that Bora's wife has made attempts to stop the fight but had failed.

The accused Prafulla Bora was arrested and his weapons were taken from his custody in the presence of independent witnesses.

Further investigations, in this case, are still underway.
