DEMOW: Under the patronage of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and Nari Mukti Sangram Samiti (NMSS) Sivasagar district committee, a protest was organized in front of the office of Demow Development Block on Wednesday against alleged corruption in the implementation of Orunodoi and Udyamita schemes in Demow constituency.

The protesters alleged that politics is being played over the schemes. They said, “The Chief Minister had said that every woman who has a ration card would get Orunodoi and that every member of the Self Help Groups who planted saplings will get the Udyamita scheme but the real beneficiaries are being deprived.”

Later, the KMSS and NMSS Sivasagar district committee submitted a memorandum to the BDO of Demow Development Block. In the memorandum, they stated that in the Demow area, many beneficiaries’ names had not been included in the Orunodoi and Udyamita schemes. They further alleged that the names of many real beneficiaries have also been removed from the existing list of the Orunodoi scheme. In the memorandum, it was also demanded that their grievances be solved at the earliest.
