Assam: ‘Quiztory’ organized by Alumni Association of Cotton University

 GUWAHATI: A national level Inter-Institutional Quiz Competition - ‘Quiztory’ - was jointly organized by the Alumni Association, Department of History (AADH) of Cotton College (erstwhile) and the Department of History, Cotton University. Themed around Assam History, the competition was organized to commemorate Lachit Divas, 2023. More than 50 teams participated in the quiz which was conducted by quizmaster Sayantan Saikia. The first prize was bagged by the team of Rajibul Awal (Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi) and Himangshu Nath (Anandaram Dhekial Phukan College, Nagaon). Vineet Kumar Das and Ankur Jyoti Sarma (Cotton University) won the second prize. The third prize was bagged by Priyanuj Parashar and Abhijnan Barhoi (Cotton University).

Consolation prizes were awarded to fourth, fifth and sixth position holders. Prizes to the winning teams were given away by Dr. Bornali Sharma, Secretary, AADH.Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka, Vice Chancellor of Cotton University, Prof. (Retd) Priyam Goswami from Gauhati University, Dr.Ritu Thaosen of Cotton University and President of AADH, Dr. Bornali Sharma of Cotton University and general secretary of AADH were present at the inaugural event. The vote of thanks was offered by faculty member of the Department of History Urmismita Deka. The event was anchored by Priyanka Talukdar, an alumnus of the Department of History, Cotton University, stated a press release.
