Assam: Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Releases Election Symbols For 2025

The Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council has officially released the list of election symbols for the 2025 elections to help voters easily identify candidates and their political affiliation on the ballot.

GUWAHATI: The Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) has officially released the list of election symbols for the 2025 elections. These symbols will help voters easily identify candidates and their political affiliations on the ballot.

A total of 210 free symbols have been made available for independent candidates. Some of the notable symbols include a ceiling fan, coconut, bicycle pump, football player, laptop, and stethoscope. These symbols will be assigned to candidates who are not contesting under any recognized party banner.

Symbols for National Parties

  • Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) – Broom

  • Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – Lotus

  • Indian National Congress (INC) – Hand

  • Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] – Hammer, Sickle, and Star

  • National People’s Party (NPP) – Book

Symbols for State Parties

  • All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) – Lock & Key

  • Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) – Elephant

  • Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) – Nangol

  • United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) – Tractor Chalata Kisan

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) must select a new free symbol since the Elephant is already reserved for AGP.

This announcement marks a crucial step in the RHAC Election 2025, ensuring that all candidates have clear and recognizable symbols, making the voting process easier for the public.

In December 2024, the Assam State Election Commission announced the publication of the final electoral roll for the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Election. The roll, which covered 36 constituencies across Kamrup and Goalpara districts, listed a total of 4,42,535 voters. This included 2,15,990 males, 2,26,541 females, and four individuals identifying as other genders.
