Assam: Ranoj Pegu Brings Up Provincialisation Of Schools In Assembly

GUWAHATI: Ranoj Pegu, the minister of education for Assam, stated on Thursday that no fresh recommendations have been made for the state's non-provincialized educational institutions.

Ranoj Pegu made it clear that there were no plans to change the legislation governing the provincialization of educational institutions when he spoke to the House today during the Assam Legislative Assembly's ongoing budget session.

The Assam Minister of Education also stated that there is no assurance that the law will ever be changed.  Ranoj Pegu claims that going forward, a state-level committee will be in charge of selecting school teachers. He clarified that not all of the posts that have already been advertised will be affected by the adjustments.

The education minister made it clear that for the time being, the impacted colleges will have the authority to appoint teachers. Ranoj Pegu continued by saying that colleges are no longer permitted to publish ads for teacher appointments.

In the midst of the controversy surrounding the closure of underperforming schools in the state in August of last year, the Assam education minister made the announcement that any complaints in the matter might be brought to him.

The education minister provided an email address and advised the public that they may use it to file complaints about any orders for school mergers or amalgamations or to propose modifications.

Pegu stressed that they must present convincing arguments supporting the request's legality. The cabinet minister's email address is ranojpegu@gmail.com.

Ranoj Pegu added that the proper Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) code and the most recent enrollment statistics for the disputed school must be provided by the complainants.

Taking to Twitter, Ranoj Pegu wrote, "Any complaint against a school amalgamation/merger order or request for modification, supported by strong logic or legitimate grounds may be sent to ranojpegu@gmail.com. Provide the correct UDISE code and current enrolment figure."
