Guwahati: As many as 6 people in Assam died due to complications from the COVID-19 virus on July 14, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced. He also confirmed that their deaths have been ascertained as COVID-related by the Death Audit Board.

"We lost Ms Sneha Mall (36), Sri Litu Kumar Bora (37), Sri Sarat Ch Saharia (60), Sri Upendra Nath (62), Sri Pramod Ranjan Saha (73) & Sri Subhakaran Dudheria (73) today. They succumbed to #COVID19 as per Death Audit Board report. My prayers, and condolences to the families", Sarma wrote in a tweet, condoling their demise.

Meanwhile, in a positive development, 757 COVID-19 patients were discharged from medical facilities across the state after recovering from the viral infection. As of today, the total number of discharged patients number 12,173, while there are 5,585 active cases of the virus in the state. At the same tie, the number of testings conducted by the health department has reached 575,867.
