Assam: Retired Headmaster Chandra Saikia Passes Away in Sootea

JAMUGURIHAT: Chandra Saikia, a retired headmaster of Niz Sootea ME School and a resident of Station Road, Sootea breathed his last today due to a brief illness at his residence. He was 83. He was born in 1941 at Solal Gaon and was later moved to Station Road. Late Saikia was closely associated with many socio-cultural organizations of the greater Sootea area. His demise has cast a pall of gloom in the entire area. He leaves behind his wife, a son, a daughter, a daughter in-law besides a host of relatives.
