Assam: Retired IPS Officer Sailendra Nath Talukdar Passes Away at 76

Sailendra Nath Talukdar, IPS (Retd.) passed away at his residence at Dilip Huzuri Path, Sarumotoria, Guwahati yesterday. He was 76.

GUWAHATI: Sailendra Nath Talukdar, IPS (Retd.) passed away at his residence at Dilip Huzuri Path, Sarumotoria, Guwahati yesterday. He was 76.

Talukdar was born in village Ghatbar, near Pathsala in Bajali district. He was the eldest son of Late Rajani Kanta Talukdar and Ghunusha Talukdar. Being the eldest amongst the siblings he shaved all the responsibilities with his parents to raise his brothers and sisters. He was a man of principles and social ethics with a brilliant career. Talukdar retired from the service of govt. of Assam as DIG Police and he is a recipient of Rashtrapati Vishisht Seva Medal.

He has left behind his wife Binita Talukdar, sons Pranjal and Pratim, daughter-in-laws Angana and Karabi, granddaughter Adrika and Prakanshi and grandson Kavish and Kriyansh.
