Margherita: In a tragic accident, a 52-year old woman died on the spot and six others were severely injured after their car rammed into a stationary truck. The car was coming from Sibsagar to Margherita when the accident took place. The family was returning after attending a shraddh ceremony.
The truck loaded with LPG cylinders was parked by the roadside as it had broken down due to some technical snag. The car hit the truck from behind. According to eye witness account the car was being driven at a high speed.
The injured were rushed to the Margherita civil hospital. Police reached the accident spot and investigation is on.
