

GUWAHATI: The third day of the Rongali festival, being held at the Khanapara Veterinary College Ground in Guwahati, was a treat for all visitors, as a range of exciting activities were organized to promote the unique culture of Assam and the Northeast region of India.
The festival has been a huge success so far, with almost one lakh footfalls recorded in the last three days. The crowds have been enthusiastic about the events and have shown a keen interest in learning more about the unique culture of the Northeast region.
Speaking about the festival, Shyam Kanu Mahanta, the man behind the event, said: "Rongali is not just a festival, but it is a celebration of the diverse and rich cultural heritage of the Northeast region. We are thrilled to see the overwhelming response from the public, and we hope to continue to promote the unique culture of the region through such events in the days to come."
One of the highlights of the festival was the felicitation of outstanding entrepreneur from the Northeast region, Sanjive Narain, for promoting entertainment on Saturday.
Master Cher India 1st runner up Santa Sarmah was also honoured on the occasion.
Expressing her gratitude on being felicitated, Santa Sarmah said: "It is an honor to be recognized at such a prestigious event. The Northeast region is home to a rich and diverse cultural heritage, and I hope that events like Rongali will help in promoting and preserving our unique culture."
The festival also showcased a range of activities, including food competitions, ramp walks by Prastuti Parashar, folklore performances from Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Nagaland, and art workshops for kids and youth. Live art installations were also on display during the event.
The musical performances by renowned artists such as Imnainla Jamir, Deeplina Deka, Ikka, DJ Rohn, Soul Tree, The Fantastic Company, and others were major attractions for visitors. The musical extravaganza was a treat for the ears and left the crowds mesmerized.
"The Rongali festival is a great platform for artists like us to showcase our talent and connect with a larger audience," said Imnainla Jamir, one of the performers at the event.
The festival has become one of the biggest cultural events in the Northeast region and has become an integral part of the cultural calendar of the state.
