GUWAHATI: Santanu Hazarika, the celebrated visual artist, has taken his creative genius to a global stage with a powerful new collaboration, this time with a dynamic collaboration with Konami, one of the most iconic names in the gaming industry. Santanu has designed a jersey for eFootball, Konami’s flagship football game, as part of their global campaign running from August to October 2025.

Adding to the excitement, the jersey has already caught the attention of none other than legendary footballer Neymar Jr, who was seen promoting Santanu’s design as part of the campaign, a rare and remarkable nod from one of the sport’s greatest icons, placing Santanu’s art firmly on the global football map.

The campaign will conclude in December with a special fan meet-and-greet event in Mumbai, which is already being hailed as one of the most awaited events on the gaming and pop culture calendar.

Unveiled as a special Independence Day surprise, the jersey pays homage to Assam, Santanu’s homeland, and brings the state’s rich heritage to the global spotlight. The design is inspired by the “Gamusa”, a traditional Assamese cloth that is both symbolic and sacred.

Typically white with bold red woven patterns and borders, the Gamusa is more than just fabric; it’s a representation of Assamese identity and pride. By incorporating Gamusa’s iconic design elements into the jersey and layering it with his personal love for heavy metal culture, Santanu has created something bold, contemporary, and emotionally resonant.
