Assam: Schoolgirl In Guwahati Escapes Kidnapping, Bit Suspects

GUWAHATI: A courageous Guwahati schoolgirl successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt by biting the kidnapper's arm and running away. The incident was reported from Guwahati's Dwaraka Nagar.

"On my way to school, I came across a silver-colored four-wheeler behind me. One of the three passengers in the car inquired about the location's name. One individual attempted to grab me just as I was about to respond. I quickly bit his hand and left the area "She said this while speaking to the media about the incident. To find the culprits and apprehend them, police have started a search operation.

The girl's mother said that a case had been reported to the Dispur Police Station. The mother of the girl has filed a complaint with us, and we are looking into the matter, the officer in charge of Dispur PS stated in a statement to the media.

Another incident involving the kidnapping and sexual assault of a young girl from Assam's Barpeta district by an Assam Assembly MLA came to light on Wednesday. Ashraful Hussain, the MLA, has been named.

The victim reported the incident to the police in an FIR, saying Ritul Hussain and a few other guys abducted her from Barpeta. The incident has been reported to the police station in Dispur. Ritul is Ashraful Hussain's assistant, the girl claimed.

Additionally, the girl claimed that she was coerced into being escorted to the MLA hostel in the Assam Secretariat. She reported to the relevant agency that Ashraful Hussain's quarters were where she had been subjected to several days of physical and mental torment. The girl added that she was coerced into signing a marriage contract and that she was compelled to agree to it.

The Barpeta victim's daughter then urged Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to look into the incident and apprehend the perpetrators. In the interim, the Guwahati police have already started their inquiry to gather proof regarding the incident. The MLA for Assam's Chenga district, however, Ashraful, refuted all of the charges leveled against him.
