Assam: SI Junmoni Rabha Granted Bail

GUWAHATI: Assam Police SI Junmoni Rabha, who was arrested by Majuli police last month, has been granted bail by a sessions court on Friday.

Rabha was arrested in connection with a case against her fiancé on various charges, including criminal conspiracy and cheating.

Assam police sub-inspector Junmoni Rabha, who had apprehended her fiance on charges of fraud last month in Nagaon district, was arrested on June 4.

The Majuli police arrested her in connection with a case against her fiance on various charges, which includes "criminal conspiracy" and "cheating".

Earlier, two separate FIRs had been filed by two contractors – Ram Abatra Sharma and Ajit Bora, against Rabha's fiance, Pogag, and they accused him of committing financial fraud.

They had alleged that Rabha had introduced Pogag to them and said that they had given the money to Pogag for getting contract works from the ONGC because of Junmoni Rabha.

Pogag, who is currently in judicial custody in Nagaon, was arrested under sections 120B, 170, 406, 419, 420, 468, 471 and 472 of the Indian Penal Code.
