GUWAHATI: Two siblings died while being treated after a fatal car accident in Kendukona, Kamrup, under the jurisdiction of Kamalpur police station. Four people, including a brother and sister, reportedly suffered injuries after being struck by a speeding car on National Highway 31 in Kendukona.

Locals stated that the doctor who was driving the car was intoxicated and that he hit the people on the road while en route to Nalbari. Gayatri Das (14) and Abinash Das perished in the tragedy (8). The injured Sumi Das and Ainul Haque have been taken right away to the hospital.

Earlier, a Maruti Swift Dzire struck an auto-rickshaw on the Tinsukia-Guijan Road, causing a fatal road accident at Guijan in the Tinsukia district. The auto-rickshaw was then set on fire by an enraged mob.

The Maruti automobile with licence plate number AS 06Z 6200 travelling from Guijan to Tinsukia collided head-on with an auto rickshaw with licence plate number AS 23 AC 9901, according to the police. The three people riding in the auto-rickshaw suffered severe injuries, but the 37-year-old driver Krishna Mili died instantly.

According to the allegations, an enraged crowd burned the car on fire in front of the police, and the Swift car's drunk driver escaped following the collision. In the meantime, police detained 3 people for allegedly setting the car on fire.

In the early hours of Monday in Assam's Morigaon district, another accident took place where a vehicle carrying 17 worshippers from the same family crashed into a parked truck due to low visibility. According to sources, the incident happened while the devotees were exiting Parshuram Kund. All the injured worshippers went right away to the Morigaon Civil Hospital.

Nikita Upadhya, Namita Upadhya, Bhagirathi, Nirmala Adhikari, Indra Prasad, and Devi Maya have all been identified as the devotees who were injured and sent to the hospital. One died from injuries after being admitted to the hospital, and another follower died while travelling to Guwahati for top-notch medical attention. Suman Sharma and Gopal Adhikari have been identified as the deceased.
