SIVASAGAR: Sivasagar witnessed a large-scale emergency mock drill on Tuesday, aimed at preparing for potential aerial attacks. The drill came in the wake of a simulated airstrike scenario across India, following tensions with Pakistan.

As part of the exercise, a mock drill was carried out in three key locations in Sivasagar town — Dolmukh Chariali, ONGC Drilling Business Group, and near the Central Market area. The goal was to demonstrate effective response measures during an enemy airstrike.

In Sivasagar, the mock drill saw coordinated participation from the police, civil defense, fire brigade, NCC, and the health department. Authorities ensured the drill ran smoothly and was understandable to the general public.

Similarly, Dibrugarh also conducted a wartime safety mock drill, as per the directive issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The mock drill took place at the busy Jayanta Dutta Road (Coal Road), located in the heart of Dibrugarh town.

The exercise, organized under the supervision of the Civil Defence Department, saw active participation from Assam Police, NDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, APDCL, NCC, Scouts and Guides, Health Department, and several other allied departments.
