Assam: Sivasagar Residents Donate ₹51,000 to Armed Forces Welfare Fund After Pahalgam Attack

The donation comes in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of brave Indian soldiers.

SIVASAGAR: The residents of Ward No. 5 under the Sivasagar Municipality have donated Rs 51,000 to the Armed Forces Battle Casualties Welfare Fund in a heartfelt gesture of patriotism and solidarity. The donation comes in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of brave Indian soldiers.

Deeply moved by the incident, the people of Sivasagar stepped forward to support the families of the fallen heroes. The cheque was formally handed over to the respected Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar by a delegation representing the local community.

During the ceremony, Nawal K Khandelia, Gobin Dutta, Devjyoti Singh, Mayur Bora, Anupal Das, Gopal Chandak, Paban Kumar Pokhrel, Papu Baruah, and Idris Ali were present.

Meanwhile, a series of heartfelt condolence ceremonies were organized across multiple locations in West Karbi Anglong district to pay tributes to the victims of the tragic Pahalgam terrorist attack. One of the prominent events took place at Kheroni Charali’s Shiv Mandir, where the members of Karbi Anglong Hindi Bhashi Sanstha and Karbi Anglong Hindi Bhashi Chhatra Sanstha jointly organized a solemn gathering.

The ceremony at Ranaima Bill was held under the presidency of Amar Bahadur Singh, with Secretary Ajay Chauhan and Advisor Pradip Kalita leading the proceedings. Senior BJP worker Kedar Sahu of the BJP Booth Committee Ranaima (131) was also present, expressing solidarity with the victims’ families.
