
SONITPUR: In the lead-up to Advantage Assam 2.0, scheduled for February 25-26, Sonitpur and Biswanath districts are set to jointly host a District Investment Workshop on February 10. The event aims to explore investment opportunities and foster economic growth in the region. Officials and Heads of Departments (HoDs) participated in preparatory meetings to ensure the workshop’s success.
Sonitpur Deputy Commissioner Ankur Bharali, ACS, led an important District Development Committee (DDC) meeting to discuss key governance and development issues. The meeting focused on improving hospital deliveries and vaccination programs, tracking tap water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission using the NHM app, and reviewing ration card distribution. Other important topics included the progress of the Watershed Yatra initiative and the fair distribution of teachers across the district.
Meanwhile, earlier yesterday, the Deputy Commissioner of Nalbari, Varnali Deka, IAS, had led an important meeting with district officials to plan for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit. The discussions had focused on working together to make the event successful and impactful in the district.
During the discussion, the Nalbari DC had emphasized the need for seamless collaboration among various departments to showcase the district’s potential and contribute effectively to the larger vision of Advantage Assam 2.0. Officials had deliberated on key aspects, including infrastructure readiness, promotional activities, and stakeholder engagement, to maximize the district’s participation and opportunities in the investment summit.
