Assam: Sonitpur SP Honors Police Personnel for Mobile Recovery, Rescue Operations

The Superintendent of Police, Sonitpur gave appreciation letters along with a money reward to three personnel for their untiring efforts in recovering 28 mobile phones.

SONITPUR: The Superintendent of Police, Sonitpur, on Wednesday, January 5, gave appreciation letters along with a money reward to three personnel from Tezpur PS working on CCTNS for their untiring efforts in recovering 28 mobiles through the CEIR portal in less than a week.

Similarly, the Superintendent of Police, Sonitpur, last year on April honored eight police officers of the district by giving them appreciation letters and cash rewards.

Sonitpur SP Varun Purkayastha presented appreciation certificates to two sub-inspectors (P), namely SI(P) Priyanka Buragohain and SI(P) Rahul Bora, and cash rewards to four LNKs: Sanjib Bhattarai, Jitumoni Das, and Jonab Ali, and apart from Monoj Gogoi, two constables: Nabadeep Das & Lutfur Rahman.

This acknowledgment was in recognition of their dedication and diligent efforts in promptly rescuing a minor girl of Dhekiajuli from Deodhar in Jharkhand and recovering a stolen government vehicle from Dimapur.

Meanwhile, four members of Assam’s Special Task Force (STF)—Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IGP and head of STF; Kalyan Kumar Pathak, Addl. SP; Hemanta Kachari, LNK; and Rajkumar Kaibartta, UB Constable—have been awarded the ‘Kendriya Grihamantri Dakshata Padak’ in the Special Operations field by the Ministry of Home Affairs last year in October.

This prestigious honor recognizes their outstanding contributions in addressing some of Assam’s most pressing criminal issues dating from March 21, 2023, to March 20, 2024.
