Assam: STF Arrests Three In Dhekiajuli Raid, Illegal Arms and Vehicles Seized

DHEKIAJULI: A successful raid was carried out by the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam, under the leadership of Dy. SP Satyendra Singh Hazari, at the residence of Matibur Rahman in Harasatapu, Muslim Chapori, under Dhekiajuli Police Station. Acting on a tip-off, the STF team apprehended three individuals who were allegedly involved in illegal activities.

During the raid, the authorities recovered a significant amount of illicit materials, including an H K 33 assault rifle, 30 rounds of 5.56x45mm ammunition, and three mobile phones.

In addition, two vehicles were seized—a Bolero car with the registration number AS12 U 9887 and a Royal Enfield motorcycle with the registration number AS12 AF 7217, both believed to have been used in the illegal activities.

The arrested individuals were identified as Matibur Rahman, aged 26, and his associates Julfikar Ali, aged 32, and Sohidul Islam, aged 30, all of whom are from the Dhekiajuli area. Matibur Rahman and Julfikar Ali are both residents of Harashetapur, Muslim Chapori, while Sohidul Islam hails from Upor Panbari, Dhekiajuli.

After the operation, all three suspects, along with the seized items, were handed over to Dhekiajuli Police Station for further investigation and necessary legal proceedings. The police action reflects a continued effort by the STF to crack down on illegal arms and ammunition in the state.
