
GUWAHATI: The Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration) Assam, Partha Sarathi Mahanta received his Ph.D. from Assam Down Town University for his research titled "A Comprehensive Analysis of Challenges and Strategies to Attain Work-Life Balance in the Police Profession, with a Special Emphasis on the Guwahati Police Commissionerate."
The senior police officer formally received the degree from the Governor of Assam Gulab Chand Kataria at the convocation ceremony of Assam Down Town University held on Saturday. He completed his research under the supervision of Dr Homeswar Goswami, Retired Head of the Department of Economics at Dibrugarh University, who currently serves as a Senior Professor in the Department of Management at Assam Down Town University.
Partha Sarathi Mahanta who is also quite well known as a poet, is also the head of the Special Task Force of Assam Police. He is the eldest son of the late Prof Sarat Mahanta and Meena Mahanta of Baikunth, Sivasagar, and currently resides in the Survey locality of Guwahati.
