JAMUGURIHAT: Sensation continues to prevail in the adjoining villages of the sixth edition of the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in the southern part of Sootea due to the free movement of stray tigers that come out from the national park during night hours. A total of five cattle heads of the villagers were killed by the stray tiger within the last two weeks.

The Biswanath wildlife division and the forest department had carried out some precautionary measures to check the free movement of the stray tiger in association with Sootea police. Since then, the frequent appearance of the stray tiger has been reduced. But, on Saturday night, the tiger again killed a goat of one Bishnu Kharka, a resident of Tewalipal. The residents of the southern part of Sootea are bound to pass sleepless nights due to the fright of stray tigers.
