Assam: Student Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances

GUWAHATI: The discovery of a student's body near Assam University on March 14 left the locality in shock and utter dismay. The deceased has been identified as Serching Tokbi of Karbi Anglong of Assam.

The body was discovered in his leased residence in Silchar's Irongmara locality. Tokbi was pursuing a master's in science while in his third semester at the university.

Unfortunately, he was discovered in an unconscious state inside his own room. After being promptly taken to the hospital, the doctors proclaimed him dead, according to sources. A post-mortem on the dead has been requested, and officials are looking into the incident.

What specifically caused the death is still a mystery. A case has been registered and police has begun their investigation process. 

Another incident took place on 9 March where a student from Assam took his own life. Kamal Brahma, was a medical student at Diphu Medical College Hospital (DMCH), which is located in Diphu in the Karbi Anglong district.


According to a source, the first-year MBBS student allegedly took the drastic move to end his life on the night of 9 March, after becoming anxious over his subpar performance on the semester exams.


According to reports, the first-semester exam results were announced four days ago. The deceased's body was transported to DMCH for a postmortem. According to information, Kamal lived in the East Karbi Anglong district in Bokajan.

In Nalbari district on 7th of March, the body of a young man with his throat cut was discovered floating in a gutter. The dead have been identified as Sajahan Ali, also known as Jintu, a Dhamdhama native and the son of Sader Ali.

After the body was discovered by several people in the Chengnoi hamlet of the Dhamdhama region of Nalbari, the tragedy was made public. According to reports, the man was put in the drain, where he bled to death.

The Nalbari police arrived on the scene right away and removed the body. An autopsy was ordered for the body. In connection with the incident, Mofiz Ali was detained by the police.
