
GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently highlighted the state's growing role in India’s green energy goals. With a target of generating 500 MW of solar energy by 2027 and a renewable energy potential of over 1,400 MW, Assam is becoming a key hotspot for sustainable energy development.
CM Sarma invited stakeholders to join the state in its journey to power Assam's growth through green energy at the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 event, which will showcase the vast opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
Additionally, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the College of Veterinary Science Playground in Khanapara to review the final preparations for the Investment & Infrastructure Summit—Advantage Assam 2.0.
With the summit just hours away, CM Sarma inspected key facilities, including pavilions and exhibition sites, ensuring everything is in place for a successful event.
The summit is expected to bring together investors, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore Assam’s economic and infrastructural potential. The government has made extensive preparations to ensure a well-organized summit.
Ahead of the event, the Assam Cabinet approved investment proposals worth Rs 1.22 lakh crore. These investments are set to increase during the summit.
CM Sarma also shared that the Cabinet had rejected proposals worth Rs 35,000–45,000 crore, describing them as "casual" in nature. The summit will provide a platform for further discussions and opportunities for the state's growth.
