
TEZPUR: Tezpur is all set to host the North-East Community Awareness Plenary (NECAP) 2025 on February 23 at Tezpur College. The Viswapragna Foundation, along with other institutions, is organizing the event to spread awareness about cancer and autism and to encourage better understanding and community involvement.
NECAP 2025 will gather top medical experts, caregivers, and community leaders to talk about issues related to cancer and autism. The cancer sessions will include talks from well-known doctors, such as Dr. Raghunadha Rao Digumarti, a B.C. Roy Awardee and former director of Tata Memorial Hospital. The topics will cover cancer prevention, lifestyle factors, vaccines, and palliative care, with an emphasis on clearing up common cancer myths.
The autism awareness sessions will be conducted by experts like Dr. Naresh Kalakota from NIMHANS and Dr. Priyadarshee Abhishek from LGBRIMH. The topics will include identifying early signs of autism, managing co-occurring conditions, and enhancing communication strategies for children with autism. Caregivers, such as Monalisa Ray, will also share their personal experiences and valuable insights on caregiving.
The event will bring together a wide array of professionals, including teachers, lawyers, law enforcement personnel, and vendors, to promote a multi-disciplinary approach to health advocacy and social inclusivity. Dr. Venkata Pradeep Babu Koyyala and Dr. Pavani Medisetty will lead the oncology and autism awareness tracks, respectively, guiding the plenary’s discussions and initiatives.
