Assam: The North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council Election witnesses a resounding win for the BJP

ASSAM: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has achieved a great electoral victory by maintaining power in the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), situated in Assam's Dima Hasao district. The Assam State Election Commission declared that the BJP secured an outstanding 25 seats out of the total council members, which were comprised of 30 individuals.

The council, consisting of 28 members who were elected and two that were nominated, saw the triumph of BJP in securing 25 seats. Out of these wins, six weren't challenged while three were snagged by unaffiliated candidates. The tallying began on Friday at eight o'clock in the morning and ended late into the night.

Debolal Garlosa, the current Chief Executive Member of NCHAC, demonstrated his party's robust leadership at the Dehangi council constituency and won. However, it is noteworthy that former militant leader Niranjan Hojai triumphed in the Hatikhali constituency.

On January 8, the election was conducted to fill up 22 seats and it witnessed a considerable voter turnout of 85.78 percent indicating the enthusiastic engagement of voters. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister extended thanks to Dima Hasao's people by expressing his gratitude towards their trust in @BJP4Assam while adding that our party would continue striving towards fulfilling people's aspirations. Moreover, he applauded Party Karyakartas for their diligent work as well.

Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, expressed a similar view and credited Prime Minister Modi's development plans for the victory. He also noted that around 35% of people in the region are from Christian communities who supported an inclusive approach towards development.

JP Nadda, President of BJP, has thanked the residents of Dima Hasao and appreciated their confidence in his party's outlook. According to him, "The outcome is a testament to the public endorsing our double-engine government's growth initiatives under Honorable PM Shri @narendramodi Ji."

The recent triumph of the BJP in the NCHAC elections highlights an enduring widespread appeal and accomplishment for the party within this region. This cements their strong commitment to both inclusive governance and holistic progress forwards.
