

GUWAHATI: In a tragic incident in Assam's Sualkuchi, three school students sustained severe injuries after the window grille of the classroom collapsed and fell over them.
The incident took place on Saturday 23 April in the Angels English School in Sualkhuchi, Kamrup district of Assam.
As per reports, the injured students were immediately taken and admitted to the Mahatma Gandhi 30 FRU (Bedded Rural Hospital) in Sualkhuchi for immediate medical attention informed locals.
However, all the three were later shifted to the GMCH (Guwahati Medical College and Hospital) in Guwahati as referred by the doctors of Sualkuchi hospital.
The parents of the injured students alleged that the classroom grilles that fell with chunks of concrete were not properly constructed and kept half-constructed.
One of the parents further informed that there has been no assurance of security from the school management and parents were unaware of anything inside the school premises because of no parents-teachers meeting was held in the school.
The school has not organized any meetings of parents and teachers till date due to which nothing inside was known said a guardian of a student.
According to the parents, the school authorities should take the matter seriously and must look for proper infrastructure management of the school.
The authorities must repair the broken and half contracted structures as soon as possible stated the parents of the injured.
Meanwhile, the AASU (All Assam Students Union) members at Sualkuchi came in support of the injured and urged the school authority to assure complete security of the students while they are inside the school.
An AASU leader also informed that as per the information received the window grills that fell upon the three students were under construction.
