TINSUKIA: In a distressing incident, three young women identified as Nandita Acharjyee, Pushpita Acharjyee and Sanchita Dev, hailing from Bozarbasti, Ledo in Assam's Tinsukia district went missing after going home for lunch. Despite intensive searches, no leads have been found, and their phones are unreachable.
An urgent investigation has been initiated by the police, and they are requesting any information from the public. Residents in the area have expressed concern that this occurrence may be related to Assam's increasing number of missing women cases.
Families are demanding that the missing women be tracked down swiftly. It is advised that anyone with information may call 6002072722 or contact the Ledo Police Outpost.
Earlier this month, five students from Dhemaji who were reported missing were found at Silchar Railway Station by the police. The students, studying in the 9th standard at a private school in Dhemaji, were planning to travel to Aizawl for a vacation.
Cachar SP Numol Mahatta confirmed that the students were in good health and would be handed over to the police in Guwahati.
The students went missing from Gogamug, and the Dhemaji police informed their counterparts in Silchar. Mahatta and Silchar Sadar OC Amrit Singh tracked the students’ potential routes and found them at the railway station on Friday morning.
The students, carrying guitars and a cricket bat, appeared to be from respectable backgrounds and were possibly seeking an adventure.
The students were treated well by the Cachar Police. Following instructions from higher authorities, they will be sent back to Guwahati, where the Dhemaji Police will take over and reunite them with their families.
