
TINSUKIA: In a major infrastructure boost, Tinsukia Railway Station will undergo a Rs 20.5 crore redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, aimed at modernizing railway stations across India. While an official announcement is awaited, the project is expected to enhance the passenger experience significantly by introducing state-of-the-art facilities.
The redevelopment is anticipated to bring multiple benefits, including new employment opportunities, improved business prospects, and enhanced travel convenience across the Northeast. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme focuses on modernizing 60 railway stations in the region, resulting in improved connectivity and infrastructure.
The interim budget 2024-25 allocated Rs 10,369 crore for railway infrastructure projects, emphasizing passenger-friendly upgrades and improved facilities. Once completed, the Tinsukia station revamp is expected to offer better amenities, smoother operations, and a more comfortable travel experience for commuters.

Meanwhile, Dibrugarh railway station is also set to receive a significant facelift under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, reportedly at a cost of Rs. 30.2 crores. The revamping of this station will provide modern, state-of-the-art amenities to the railway users of the nearby areas. The official announcement is yet to be made.
