Assam To Distribute PMAY-G Approval Letters To 3.88 Lakh Beneficiaries

GUWAHATI: In a significant move, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a video conference with district commissioners and co-district commissioners to discuss about the distribution of approval letters for the first installment under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).

CM Sarma directed them to organize the event simultaneously across all districts, ensuring that 3,88,358 beneficiaries receive their approval letters on March 19, 2025. The meeting also focused on the Gamusa distribution program, with CM Sarma emphasizing the need for smooth execution and thorough arrangements to ensure success.

Similarly, CM Sarma chaired a review meeting to evaluate the functioning of secondary and higher education. Key discussions included the appointment and remuneration of teachers to ensure a motivated and effective workforce.

The meeting also addressed the state of educational infrastructure, identifying areas that need improvement for a conducive learning environment. Other key topics included the Tea Garden Model Schools, aimed at providing quality education to tea garden communities; upgrading schools, especially in remote areas to enhance the student learning experience; the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Merit Award under the Pragyan Bharati Scheme and the Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Asoni.

Meanwhile, the Assam CM visited Barpeta Xatra, Chinpara Vithi and Patbaudi Than on the eve of the Doul Festival at Barpeta. CM Sarma inaugurated several development and beautification projects at Patbausi Than established by Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva.
