
GUWAHATI: Topcem Cement, a leading cement brand of Northeast India, organised the Blood Donation Camp on August 8 in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Chapter, in Guwahati.
The Blood Donation camp was inaugurated by Chairman Kailash Chandra Lohia in the presence of Bajrang Lohia, Director, and Dr Anil Kapur, Senior President, Sales & Marketing, Meghalaya Cements Ltd.
Dr Dipankar Baruah, in charge of GMCH Blood Bank; Deba Prasad Sarma, general secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Branch; Laba Kumar Sarma, state manager of the Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Branch; and other senior management personnel of the Lohia Group were present at the camp held at the office premises of Topcem Cement, at Mega Plaza, G.S. Road, Guwahati.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anil Kapur said, “It’s an honour for us that the Indian Red Cross Society has accepted our request to associate with us for this blood donation participation, and we look forward to more such association with us in the near future.”
The Voluntary Blood Donation Camp saw enthusiastic participation from a complete cross-section of employees of Topcem Cement, their partners and associates, along with volunteers from Lohia Group of Companies, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to humanitarian causes and the importance of voluntary blood donation. By the end of the day, the number of units collected was more than 25 at the Blood Donation Camp.
