Assam: Track Instability at New Harangajao Continues to Disrupt Rail Services

NFR suspended two tracks at New Harangajao due to settlement issues, causing cancellations, rescheduling and restrictions on Lumding-Badarpur rail services.

HAFLONG: Rail services on the Lumding-Badarpur hill section continue to face major disruptions as Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has kept Line 1 and Line 2 at New Harangajao (NHGJ) station suspended due to track settlement.

According to Bulletin No. 15 issued by NFR at 1:30 pm on Thursday, train operations are presently being carried out only through Line 3, whose condition is under constant monitoring to ensure safe movement of trains. In the interest of passenger safety and convenience, the movement of passenger-carrying trains through the affected section has been restricted between 7:00 pm and 5:00 am.

The latest operational bulletin states that several trains have either been cancelled, rescheduled, or regulated because of the continuing disruption.

Among the major cancellations are the Guwahati-Dullabcherra Express (15617), Dullabcherra-Guwahati Express (15618), Guwahati-Silchar Express (15615), and Silchar-Guwahati Express (15616) on their notified journey dates.

In addition, several trains, including the Naharlagun-Agartala Express, Agartala-Naharlagun Express, Guwahati-Sairang Express, Rangiya-Silchar Express, Silchar-Rangiya Express, Agartala-Anand Vihar Tejas Express, and Silchar-New Delhi PSK Express, have been rescheduled with revised departure timings, mostly during late-night hours.

NFR has also decided to regulate the movement of a number of long-distance trains, including the SMVB-Agartala Express, Kolkata-Agartala Express, and Chozuba-Silchar Express, over the Lumding Division to manage traffic through the affected section.
