GOLAGHAT: In an unfortunate incident, a truck was hit and its driver killed by a fast-moving train at a railway crossing in Golaghat district of Assam on Monday.
The deceased truck driver's identity is yet to be ascertained. The train is known to be the south bound Avadh-Assam Express.
It has come to light that the railway crossing was an exposed one with no gates to stop entry of vehicles when a train is passing by.
As per information, the truck with registration number AS-03 AC-2565 carrying a load of sand was heading towards Jamuguri. Just when it was going through the level railway crossing at Tamuly village of Borpathar in the district, the truck was hit by the Avadh Assam Express.
