Assam: Training Conducted for Election Officials in Dibrugarh Ahead of Panchayat Polls 2025

DIBRUGARH: Ahead of the upcoming Panchayat Elections 2025, a crucial training session for sector and zonal officers was conducted on Friday at the Jagriti Auditorium of the Rural Development Agency in Dibrugarh. The session aimed to equip officials with the necessary directives and procedures to ensure the smooth and error-free conduct of the elections.

During the training, officers were instructed to revisit their respective polling stations to verify the availability of essential facilities. They were also directed to report any discrepancies or concerns, particularly related to polling infrastructure or voter lists, to the district administration without delay.

The training session was attended by District Commissioner Bikram Kairi (IAS), District Development Commissioner Anup Kumar Brahma (ACS), and Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad Bipul Kumar Das. Five general observers appointed for Panchayat Election 2025, Nayanjyoti Bhagawati, Nirmal Kanti Debnath, Dr. Kaberi B. Sharma, Hemang Nabich, and Bijita Deka, were also present.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the upcoming Panchayat Elections 2025, the Dibrugarh District Administration has announced stringent prohibitory measures around all designated nomination centres.

The directive, issued by Additional District Magistrate (in-charge) Arjit Mahajan, is enforced under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, and takes effect from April 3, 2025, coinciding with the start of the nomination process as notified by the State Election Commission of Assam.
