BOKAKHAT: With the objective of conducting the upcoming Panchayat elections in the Bokakhat subdivision in a smooth and orderly manner, a training programme for the second and third polling officers assigned to the Panchayat elections was held on Saturday at Chandranath Bezbaruah College, Bokakhat. In the training, several master trainers provided instruction to the second and third polling officers.
During the training, all second and third polling officers were briefed about ballot boxes, ballot papers, and the responsibilities they are required to carry out. Additionally, they were made aware of the guidelines formulated by the State Election Commission.
Purabi Gogoi, an officer of the Assam Civil Service appointed by the State Election Commission as the election observer for the Bokakhat subdivision, participated in today’s training programme. Prior to this, the observer visited several designated polling stations for the Panchayat elections in the Bokakhat subdivision. She also inspected polling stations that are to be operated by women officers.
During the inspection, the election observer assessed whether the polling stations were equipped with all the necessary facilities. Furthermore, she visited polling stations set up in the tea garden areas designated for the Panchayat elections.
