TANGLA: A one-month residential training programme under the Green Skill Development Program (GSDP), focused on “Apiculturist (Wild Bee) – Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP),” successfully concluded in Udalguri recently . The training was organized by EIACP (PC Hub), Assam, under the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council. The Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) is an initiative of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India, aimed at equipping young individuals with skills in the environment and forestry sectors. In Assam, the programme is implemented by EIACP-Assam, under the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council, to help participants gain employment or start their own sustainable businesses. A total of 30 participants from Chirang, Garobasti, and nearby areas of Udalguri took part in the training. Each trainee was provided with a start-up kit containing a bee box, a guidebook, and essential accessories. Additionally, three master trainers received government-recognized certification during the valedictory function. The residential training programme, which began on January 25, was coordinated by Debojit Borah.
