Assam: Traveller In Morigaon Carrying 17 Devotee Rams Into Parked Truck

MORIGAON: Due to poor visibility, a vehicle carrying 17 devotees from the same family collided with a parked truck early on Monday in Assam's Morigaon district. The following devotees have been named as the injured patients who were taken to the hospital: Nikita Upadhya, Namita Upadhya, Bhagirathi, Nirmala Adhikari, Indra Prasad, and Devi Maya. Another devotee passed away while travelling to Guwahati for advanced medical care, while one died from injuries after being admitted to the hospital. Gopal Adhikari and Suman Sharma have been named as the deceased.
The other victims of severe injuries were sent to Guwahati for early medical attention. Residents of Noonmati made up the followers. It is known that the accident happened because of poor visibility brought on by thick fog. Assam has been dealing with poor morning visibility due to severe fog for the past few days. In the evening and early morning, the state also experienced a dip in temperature.

There have been 5677 accidents in Assam as of October 2022. There were fewer accidents in the state than in the previous year. It is at -6.15 percent. By the end of October, Assam had experienced 2409 fatalities and 4589 injuries this year. 6049 accident cases were registered in Assam last year. 4768 injuries were reported across the state, while 2440 people lost their lives in traffic accidents overall.
