Assam: Two cyber criminals arrested

NAGAON: Sleuths from Mumbai Crime Branch in association with Juria police conducted raids in quest of a huge gang of cyber criminals at multiple spots in greater Juria and arrested two cyber criminals on Wednesday. The sleuths recovered some objectionable documents as well as other items from their possessions.

The sleuths from Mumbai Crime Branch with the aid of local Juria police arrested one Shaqlain Mustak from Juria Dhinggaon village while another alleged criminal Abdur Rahman was arrested from Batomari village by the team, sources said, adding that the team from Mumbai Crime Branch also continued sweeping to trace a few others of the gang of the cyber criminals who looted crores of rupees from various individuals in Mumbai, a few days back. While speaking to this correspondent here, Nagaon SP Navaneet Mahanta said that the special team of Mumbai crime branch arrived here at Nagaon on Tuesday and sought the help of Nagaon police to carry out the drive. He said that he had directed local police of Juria PS to co-operate the team and asked to help them in all aspects.
