Assam: Two Dead In Road Accident In Boko, Culprit Absconding

BOKO: A fatal road accident on NH17 near Lampara in Boko on Saturday evening resulted in the death of two individuals. The incident occurred when a passenger bus collided with a Yamaha MT-15 bike from behind while both vehicles were heading towards Lakhipur in Goalpara district.

The bus driver attempted to escape after the accident, but police quickly responded and seized the vehicle at Agchiya village. However, the driver managed to flee and remains missing.

The victims, who worked as carpenters in Guwahati, were returning home when the tragedy took place. Their bodies will be sent to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a post-mortem examination on Sunday. Investigations are ongoing to locate the driver and determine the exact cause of the accident.

Earlier this month, a speeding car hit a motorcycle, leaving the rider seriously injured on the Silchar-Aizawl National Highway (NH-306) in Saptagram in Cachar district.

Locals rushed the victim to Silchar Medical College and Hospital, but tensions flared as a mob vandalized vehicles. Police quickly intervened to restore order.

In another incident in Jagiroad, a motorcyclist, Ankur Deuri, lost his life after being hit by an unidentified vehicle at Tarangapar. He was taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital but did not survive.

Another tragic accident occurred near Demow when an EECO car crashed into a culvert, killing a minor and injuring eight passengers. Police are investigating the incidents.
