DEMOW: Pabitra Margherita, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, came to the 95 No. Demow constituency today and took part in a couple of programmes. Margherita laid the foundation stone for an auditorium of Tai Ahom Culture Development and Tai Language Publicity Committee in Demow Madhupur today.
In the programme, Minister Margherita was accompanied by Sushanta Borgohain, MLA of 95 No. Demow constituency along with other dignitaries. He was given a warm welcome in Tengapani near Demow and also felicitated there.
Margherita also inaugurated the newly-constructed Balia Baba Than (Mandir) in Tengapani in the presence of MLA Sushanta Borgohain, Bhoirab Deori, CEC of Deori Autonomous Council, along with other dignitaries.
Talking to the media here, Pabitra Margherita said that in Jorhat, Nazira, Demow, and Teok, the foundation stones of 13 projects were laid and they will be constructed at a cost of Rs 85 lakh. He also said that from now on, as a representative of Narendra Modi, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, and the two ruling governments, the public will get him as a local MP. Margherita further said that he has taken the responsibility of the Jorhat constituency.
