GUWAHATI: Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh visited the Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati on Monday, where he offered prayers for the progress and prosperity of the Northeastern states.

Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dedication to the region's development, Singh announced plans to organize a conference of Northeast ministers to discuss future growth initiatives.

Singh underscored the vital role of the Northeastern states in the nation’s progress. “The Prime Minister is deeply committed to the development of this region. I offered prayers at Maa Kamakhya Devi Temple with this vision in mind,” he stated.

Reflecting on the progress achieved since 2014, Singh highlighted advancements across various sectors, including a 4% rise in fisheries production driven by his department’s efforts. He added that the upcoming ministerial conference would prioritize strategies to enhance productivity in the region.

Singh criticized RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav for his casual approach to politics and national issues, accusing him of harming Bihar’s progress. He also referenced Nitish Kumar’s past remarks expressing regret over their political alliance.

Speaking about the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, Singh reiterated the BJP’s commitment to the NDA and accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of corruption. “The people of Delhi have decided that the BJP will emerge victorious,” he said, ahead of the elections scheduled for February 2025.
